Iran: Three prisoners die of lack of medical treatment

Three prisoners in Iran, including two women, recently lost their lives due to lack of medical treatment and authorities’ refusal to provide such necessary services.

Shiva Fekri, suffering from high blood pressure, died in the women’s prison of Shahre Rey, south of Tehran, after being denied access to medical treatment.

Another prisoner suffered a heart attack and her fate is not known after being transferred to a hospital.

Saeid Nohi also died due to denying access to medical care on Tuesday in Tehran’s Evin Prison.

Imprisoned women suffer from severe winter cold in Gharchak Prison, southeast of Tehran, as authorities regularly cut off heating services and Deny them medical care.
