In a meeting with Judiciary officials, the head of the Judiciary Sadegh Amoli Larijani cited the perseverance of the Judiciary in the face of actions that are seemingly human rights related but actually have a political nature and are against the Islamic Republic and stressed that “institutions that are attacked have to be more cautious”…
“I say to all the respectful judiciary officials that if we take the smallest step back in the face of these attacks, they will reach the conclusion that they can cause a retreat of the Judiciary with media pressure and the attacks will certainly increase”, he said.
“Sometimes they imagine that by spreading a widespread atmosphere about the hunger strike of a prisoner or issues like this, they can effect judicial procedures or the implementation of sentences. This is while these kinds of measures have no legal grounds and will not affect (legal) procedures”, he stressed. (Fars state-run News Agency – Jan. 16, 2017)
