Iran: Imprisoned civil rights advocate back on hunger strike

Arash Sadeghi, who ended his 71-day hunger strike on January 3rd, relaunched his hunger strike protesting authorities returning his wife, Golrokh Ebrahimi Iraee, to prison on Saturday, January 22nd.

Sadeghi has recently been transferred to Evin’s ward 350.

Authorities have denied him access to the medical care he so desperately needs despite his serious health conditions and being on the verge of death.

Human rights organizations and activists across the globe have called for Sadeghi’s immediate release. However, he has continuously been denied medical treatment.
