Iran: Political prisoner denied medical treatment

Navid Kamran held in ward 8 of Tehran’s Evin Prison as a political prisoner for four months now, is denied medical treatment despite suffering from mobility problems in his legs and arms. He had been frequently arrested in 2010, 2011, 2012 and 2015.

This political prisoner needs to be hospital to undergo the urgent specialized medical care he requires. However, prison authorities are denying him urgent medical care despite being eligible to receive a furlough.

It is worth noting that the Tehran public prosecutor’s office, prison authorities and intelligence officials are deliberately denying this political prisoner any access to medical care. In many cases these are intentional cruel acts intended to punish political prisoners
