Iran: Heightened suppression of imprisoned dissidents

The riot guard of Zahedan Prison in southeast Iran raided inmates who were protesting authorities forcing of juveniles and young men above the age of 18 into a single ward. A prisoner named Ahmed Naroyi was wounded as a result.

None of the injured inmates were transferred to a hospital at the time of submitting this report.

A large number of protesting prisoners were transferred to solitary confinement in a quarantined ward, known as the torture chamber.

Many of them have no place to sleep, the corridors are overcrowded, and prisoners are placed in conditions of low hygiene and poor water quality. There are also no adequate medical facilities.
