Two porters were shot on February 24th, and severely injured, in the Sardasht border area, west of Iran.
One of the wounded’s brother, was fatally shot in clashes with the guards deployed the border, protesting shooting incident resulted his brother’s death.
These poor porters, transfer goods on their backs or with pack animals, with great difficulty and at a high risk to their lives to earn a living for their families.
These destitute porters are gunned down or targeted by border guards every year.
