16 people have been arrested this year for working for online modelling agencies deemed to be “un-Islamic”, in East Azerbaijan Province, northwest of Iran, according to a local FATA police chief.
Iranian authorities have been arresting and imprisoning people this year in particular for what authorities consider immoral online activities.
Iran has launched a crackdown on social media and arrested fashion models. This is considered part of their cyberwarfare against the West.
