An inmate in Khordin Prison in Varamin, west of Tehran, died on Thursday due to lack of medical care.
Parviz Moradi suffered from a continuing case of severe abdominal pain for which he received no diagnosis. Even despite his critical condition he was denied access to a clinic without any further medical care, according to a source close to the inmate.
The death of Moradi, in the last week of Persian calendar, adds another name to the long list of those killed by the Iranian regime through abuse and neglect in prisons.
