Iran: 825 Days Pending Imprisonment of Youths

Nasirabad’s youths (part of the city of Sarbaz in Sistan and Baluchistan, southeastern Iran) are continuously kept incarcerated in pending for more than 27 months.
While last year, it was promised to these prisoners that their trial will be held on March 9, 2017, so far only three of them have been tried in closed door courts.

These youths were tried on charges of “acting against national security” but authorities have given no exact information and details about their case. Security officials of the Iranian regime in a statement which was strongly rejected by the prisoners’ families accused “them of armed resistance, establishing resistance group, murdering teachers and soldiers in the region of Sarbaz”.

Contacting their families, Prisoners reported “severe tortures” and “forced confessions” while in detention in the confinement center of the Intelligence Ministry.
