Iran: Prison authorities cut off hot water on inmates

Prolonged prison’s hot water cut off caused sanitary difficulties for inmates in Karaj’s Rajaeishahr Prison, west of Tehran.
Authorities have cut off hot water in some wards and halls namely in Hall 21 of 7th penitentiary where Sunni inmates are held.
They have asked inmates to pay approximately $160 to address the technical problem.
“Authorities have regularly cut off hot water aimed at transferring Sunni inmates to another Ward.

The warden claims the water heater has technical problems and lack of adequate budget for repairs is preventing any measures in this regard. He asked inmates to pay for solving the problem,” according to a source close to the Sunni inmates.
