Iran: Hands of two men to be cut off

Branch 11 of Tehran’s Criminal Court ruled on May 31, to cut off the hands of two prisoners accused of theft, the state-run ROKNA news agency reported on June 1, 2017.
The theft convicts identified only as Taghi, 30, and Parviz, 31, were tried by Judge Matin Rasekh.
One of the convicts who is a father of two, said that he had resorted to theft in a desperate attempt to pay for his wife’s chemotherapy.
