Iran: 53 Political prisoners launch mass hunger strike

Some 53 political prisoners held in Rjaei Shahr Prison launched a mass hunger strike on Sunday July 31 protesting their enforced transfer to the high security Hall 10.
Prison guards on July 30, raided Hall 12 of Ward 4 of Rajaei Shahr Prison in Karaj, and transferred political prisoners and prisoners of conscience to this Hall.
They were not allowed to bring their personal belongings such as their books, cloths and cooking appliances. The prisoners are denied to access their medications. None of the refrigerators, TV or even their food is transferred to the new section. Being denied to transfer water purification systems and water cooler, the prisoners are limited to access water.
A number of prisoners are currently in poor health. Peyman Kushk Baghi, Saeid Pourheydar, Hamid Babaei and Adel Naeimi were transferred to prison clinic.
Prison authorities put pressure on Zanyar and Loghman Moradi to end their hunger strike.
All the 53 announced that they will not going to end their hunger strike until they are transferred back to Hall 12.
