Mother of hunger striking political prisoner says son is in critical condition
Zahra Eghdami, the mother of hunger striking political prisoner Jafar Eghdami who is detained in Rajaie Shahr Prison said that in her last visit with her son, he could barely stand on his legs.
“No one gives us any answers”, she said.
“All the families are concerned for the health of the prisoners. My son was given ten years of prison for no reason at all and he was just serving his time. But they (prison officials) forced them to move, took away their belongings, banned them from family visits and harass them every day, and do nothing but put their lives in danger”.
Jafar Eghdami was arrested in 2008 after taking part in a ceremony to mark the anniversary of the massacre of political prisoner in 1988. He is now serving the last year of his 10 year prison term. (International Campaign for Human Rights in Iran – Aug. 28, 2017)
