Iran: Arab activists arrested and interrogated, banned from holding free Eid al-Adha ceremony
The Ahwaz Intelligence Department summoned about 100 Arab activists from August 27 to August 29. The reason behind the summons and arrests was to prevent these activists from holding Eid al-Adha ceremonies. According to a local source, all the people summoned were questioned about an internet campaign inviting people to participate in an Eid al-Adha ceremony. There were told that they were not to organize a ceremony and did not have a right to hold prayers in locations other than those determined by the authorities.
