Iran: Political prisoner beaten by IRGC

Majid Moghaddam, a political prisoner detained in Section 8 of Evin Prison, was transferred to a Revolutionary Guards Detention Center outside of Evin Prison, where he was beaten.
The reason for the torture of this political prisoner was a letter, in which according to the Guards, he had defended hunger strikes as a protest method and had encouraged other prisoners to go on strikes. Majid Moghaddam was sentenced to prison for “protesting the results of the presidential elections in 2009”, “meeting with the families of slain protesters “, “supporting political prisoners and meeting them”, and “recounting the events of Kahrizak through interviews with independent media.”
