Iran: Body of dead homeless woman found in trash
The body of a homeless woman was found in a trash bin in the town of Meshkin Shahr in Alborz Province. The body, which was found by municipality workers, belongs to a middle aged woman and was wrapped in a cloth. The head of the Alborz Media Police Department said that the corpse was discovered on Monday December 4. According to figures announced by the Chairman of the Tehran City Council Committee, only in March, there were about 2,000 homeless women in Tehran.
“No evidence has yet been found showing that the woman was murdered”, Ayyoub Ahmadi, the Commander of the Fardis State Security Forces said.
Studies show that in several neighborhoods of Karaj, a number of women and men, and even homeless teenagers, spend their days and nights in hand made shelters.
