The raid on Ward 5 of the Great Tehran Penitentiary war carried out on the orders of the Prisons Organization and under the pretext of “prohibition” of having such furniture in the wards.
The raid began in the first hall of Ward 5 where Nasser Fahimi and Farhad Salmanpour are imprisoned, the source said.
Prison guards carried out the raid on the orders of the Prisons Organization, in a bid to terrorize the prisoners and increase psychological pressure on them.
According to another report, the authorities of the Great Tehran Penitentiary have refused to give Nasser Fahimi his vital medicines. Mr. Fahimi has heart complications and prison authorities have deprived him of receiving his medicines several times.
The GTP authorities had previously threatened political prisoners in Ward 5. On September 15, 2020, after the execution of the wrestling champion Navid Afkari, the heads of Ward 5 went there and threatened the prisoners and tried to intimidate them. They said: “Did you see that publishing the news of execution of Navid in the international media did not have any effect, and we will execute anyone we want?”
