Six civil rights activists were sentenced to 8 months in prison by branch 10 of Urmia’s Criminal Court, northwest Iran, for attending a ceremony marking “International Day against Torture”,.
Somaye Alidoust, Morteza Zarini, Meysam Azadi, Vahid Nasibi, Vahid Faezpour, Gholamali Hosseingholizadeh, all civil rights activists from Azerbaijan, also northwest Iran, were arrested when heading to the slopes of Sahand Mountain to participating in the peaceful ceremony.
