Iran: Authorities refuse furlough for political prisoner

Khaled Hardani, a political prisoner in Gohardasht Prison of Karaj, west of Tehran, has been imprisoned for years without furlough.

He wrote a letter to prison authorities demanding furlough to attend his daughter’s wedding ceremony.

“The authorities had already refused to allow me attend my mother’s funeral. It is now my daughter’s wedding and they again refuse  to respond to my demand after 16 years in prison,” he added in his letter.

Mr. Hardani has been suffering from a variety of physical complications. Prison authorities, however, have denied him treatment since 2006.
