Iran: Christian convert on hunger strike in prison

Hadi Asgari, a Christian convert, has been on hunger strike for the past three days in Tehran’s Evin Prison, protesting six months of uncertainty.

Amin Afshar Naderi, another Christian convert, has also been on hunger strike since February 4th despite his serious health conditions. However, authorities have refused to respond to his demands.

Amin Afshar Naderi and Hadi Asgari were both arrested on August 26th

along with 12 other men and women in Firouzkuh, northern Iran, for seeking membership in a house church. They were subsequently transferred to Evin’s ward 209. Three months later and following the interrogation process, these prisoners were transferred to Evin’s hall three, and detained there to this day.
