Iran’s police publicly humiliated dozens of youth arrested during a peaceful annual event celebrating the last days of winter and the Persian calendar year.
They have been forced to clean the streets before being officially charged or taken to court.
The fire festival deemed as un-Islamic act since the 1979 Islamic revolution. The authorities have dismissed the celebrations as heretical fire-worshipping without any basis in Sharia.
