Iran executes another mentally disabled man

Iran executed another mentally ill inmate in Tabriz Prison, northwest of Iran.

Rahman Hosseinpur, 27, was diagnosed with mental illnesses and had been imprisoned in a psychotherapy ward. He was found guilty of murder.

This execution has not been made public by judiciary officials.

On April 4th another mentally impaired inmate was executed in this prison.

The execution of those with mental illnesses or “the insane” is clearly prohibited by international law. Iran continues this practice while virtually every country in the world prohibits it.
