Five Baluch activists, having been imprisoned for two years were put on trial on Tuesday May 30.
The first Branch of Zahedan’s Court has sentenced Javid Dehghan to death and the four others, Mahmoud Kalkali, Omid Imani, Abdolhamid Baluch and Alireza Bampouri each to 15 years behind bars.
They are charged with “measures threatening national security” and “enmity against God,” the accusations the five have denied, and stated that their confessions extracted through torture.
The prisoners have appealed the sentence and told they had severely been tortured, forcibly naked and lashed during the interrogation.
