Political prisoner sentenced to 10 years of prison

The 4th Branch of the Sanandaj Revolutionary Court of Review confirmed the 10 year prison term of political prisoner Hossein Daneshmand.
Daneshmand was initially arrested in 2005 after intelligence agents attacked his mother’s home and arrested him in Baneh.
His brother, Dr. Hassan Daneshmand, was simultaneously arrested for protesting after agents attacked him with pepper spray.
These two brothers were released on bail after weeks of interrogations but were arrested a short time later by the Kurdistan Revolutionary Guards Corps Intelligence Department. The court sentenced Hossein to 10 years of prison for having contacts with Kurd dissident groups. He was denied a lawyer all through the interrogations and court procession.
