Iran executes a young political prisoner in Kurdistan Province

A political prisoner was hanged on the dawn of Wednesday August 2, 2017, based on security charges in Central Prison of Sanandaj, capital of Iranian Kurdistan Province.
The victim identified as 26-year-old Morteza Rahmani had been transferred to solitary confinement on Monday July 31 in preparation of his execution.
Morteza Rahmani was sentenced to three years behind bars and three executions in 2013, for acting against national security by being a member of a Kurd opposition party and murder of two members of Revolutionary Guards Corps.
