Iran: Parents of political prisoners summoned and threatened by Intelligence Agency

On Monday July 31, the parents of political prisoners Ramin and Afshin Hossein Panahi were summoned to the Sanandaj Intelligence Agency.
Amjad Hossein Panahi who is a Kurd human rights activist said that they threatened their parents with the arrest of all of their family members. He said that they were threatened with the execution of their sons Afshin and Ramin to get them to talk in a filmed interview. “They were told to say in the interview that Afshin was in good health (in prison) and deny that he was on a hunger strike”, Amjad added. The Hossein Panahi family, have in a statement, exposed the actions of the Intelligence Agency as “inhumane and immoral”.
Ramin Hossein Panahi was severely wounded on June 23 during clashes with the Revolutionary Guards Corps in Sanandaj and was then arrested.
