Internet activists arrested in Rasht, Tehran and Mashhad

The Cyber Police in Gilan said today that three men aged 25, 28 and 39 were arrested on the charge of creating disturbances on the internet in three cities including Rasht, Tehran and Mashhad, according to the state-run TV website report on August 6, 2017.
“In light of the digital evidence, the suspects were detained until their court sentences are issued”, Iraj Mohammad-Khani said.
“According to Internet Crime Laws, creating any kind of internet disturbance for individuals is considered a crime and the offenders will be sentenced to fines, prison and flogging”, he added.
