Alireza Tajiki who was 15 years old when arrested was executed on August 10, 2017 in Adelabad Prison of Shiraz, southern Iran.
He was convicted of murder and “lavat-e be-onf” (male on male rape) and sentenced to death in 2013, in a trial marred by torture allegations.
Alireza Tajiki had said on multiple occasions the confessions he made were extracted through torture, including severe beatings, floggings, and suspension by arms and feet when he was just 16 years old.
The execution of Alireza Tajiki provoked a wave of international criticism at Iran’s human rights violations. Amnesty International
urged Iran to halt this execution and described it as an “utterly shameless act by the Iranian authorities.”
