The Us State Department criticizes Iran for targeting religious minorities
The Us State Department in its latest International Religious Freedom Annual Report, criticized the conditions in Iran.
US Secretary of State Rex Tillerson said Iran targeted religious minorities including Baha’is and Christians, and in 2016 executed 20 people on charges including “waging war against God”.
In Iran, Baha’is, Christians, and other minorities are persecuted for their faith. Iran continues to sentence individuals to death under vague apostasy laws, the report reads in part.
