Iran: Kurd student banned from continuing education for political reasons

Farhad Shafizadeh, a Kurd student from Marivan, was banned from continuing his education after the final results of the master’s degree test were announced and he came in 57th place in “Western philosophy” at Tabriz University.
The Education Assessment Organization has explained the reason for the Kurd’s student’s prohibition from education as “the opposition of the Marivan Information Department and that of Tabriz University’s Security Department”.
Before this, Farhad Shafizadeh was arrested in 2014 on charges of “disrupting order and criticizing political figures” in Marivan.
