Iran: Sunni inmate was beaten up in quarantine ward

Sunni prisoner Hamzeh Darvish, 23, is continuing his hunger strike despite being tortured by Rajai Shahr (Gohardasht) Prison chief, who pressured the Sunni inmate to brake his hunger strike, reports indicate.

On January 31, Hamzeh Darvish was taken to quarantine ward where he was violently beaten up by three prison officials Sahraei, Zolfali and Esameili. The scars of torture are visible on his body so he has to stay there until the scars are disappear.

The Sunni inmate who is mentally disturbed was threatened to being sent to a psychiatric hospital ward where his hands and feet would be cuffed to a bed.

According to the cellmates Hamzeh Darvish has said that he will not stop his hunger strike until his case is determined.
