Over 80 people 59 women and 25 men rallying on the morning of March 8, 2018, outside the Labor Ministry in Tehran to honor the International Women’s Day were arrested.
The gathering at the intersection of Azadi and Behboudi avenues was violently attacked by security forces.
Security forces brutalized the participators with batons and electric shockers. A number of men who protested the violence were also arrested and taken to an unknown location.
The exact numbers of detainees are still unknown
Zohreh Assadpour, Mehrdad Fallahi, Parastoo Allahyari, Azar Gilani, Peyman Chehrazi, Jelveh Javaheri, Ali Salem, Banafsheh Jamali, Bahar Aslani and Azadeh Behkish are among those arrested. The father of Mrs. Behkish was executed back in the 1980s.
The family members of the detainees of are now gathering outside the Vozara Detention Center where a large number of the State Security Force are stationed.
