Iran: Measures taken in Kurdistan to ban Nowruz celebrations

Government bodies in Kurdistan have started measures to prevent Nowruz celebrations in Kurdistan.
According to reports, a few days ago, the police base in the Janvaeh region in Marivan summoned the heads of councils and villages warning them that they should not hold special Nowruz celebrations in the villages.

They were also told that they should take all steps necessary to implement the decisions of the government.

Intelligence agencies in Sanandaj also summoned Kurd civil rights activists, Ejlal Ghavami, Hashem Hesami, Sabah Hassani, and Hiva Yousefi, and warned them about holding Nowruz celebrations.
Intelligence forces told these civil rights activists that they should not invite people to gather and celebrate for Nowruz.
