Iran: Political prisoners go on hunger strike on the eve of Nowruz

A group of political prisoners in the prisons of Evin, Gohardasht and the Greater Tehran Penitentiary staged a 3-day long hunger strike protesting the closed political space and lack of any freedom.
The statement says ‘We the political prisoners in Evin, Gohardasht and the Greater Tehran Prisons will go on Huger stick for 3 days starting on Sunday, March 18.’
While congratulating fellow Iranian people on the Persian New Year (Nowruz) they added: ‘We, more than ever, hope that the new year would be a rich and successful year and would bring freedom, justice and welfare to all people.’
