Political prisoner Golrokh Iraee went into a coma and was transferred to a hospital. This is after she has been on a hunger strike for nearly two months in Qarchak Prison, demanding to be returned to Evin Prison.
Golrokh Iraee has been on hunger strike since February 3, 2018, in protest to her unlawful exile from Evin Prison to Qarchak Prison, in violation of the principle of separation of prisoners of different categories, on January 24. She demands being returned to the Women’s Ward of Evin Prison. The political prisoner has refused injection of serum and breaking her hunger strike. She is in critical conditions. The assistant Prosecutor of Evin has declared that he will not allow Ms. Iraee back to Evin even if she dies.
Ms. Iraee is sentenced to six years in prison for writing an unpublished story against the inhuman sentence of stoning. Her husband, Arash Sadeghi, is also imprisoned and sentenced to 19 years.
