Swedish media have reported that the death sentence for Ahmad Reza Jalali, an Iranian doctor and researcher who lives in Stockholm, has been announced to his lawyer. Mr. Jalali was arrested last year on charges of espionage and was threatened with execution by Judge Abolqasem Salavati. Sweden’s state television quoted his wife Vida Mehrnia, as saying that her husband’s lawyer told her that the death sentence was announced to him.

He also earned a master’s degree from a program in disaster medicine jointly organized by CRIMEDIN and VUB. Now, he’s a professor in the same program and a scientist.
