After 30 days of Esmail Abdi’s hunger strike, he is being denied treatment at a hospital outside the prison.
The prominent trade unionist was supposed to be taken to Khomeini Hospital on May 30, due to severe kidney pain and hypotension.
Authorities told him he must go to hospital in handcuffs, shackles and a prison uniform.
Esmail Abdi however refused to accept such humiliating conditions and subsequently was returned to the ward despite his serious health condition.
IRGC, the prosecutor’s office and specifically the deputy prosecutor Haji Moradi are obstructing his access to medical care.
