Two prisoners were sentenced to each have a hand amputated on Wednesday, May 31.
The theft convicts, identified only as Taghi, 30 and Parviz, 31, were trialed by the Branch 11 of Tehran’s Criminal Court chaired by judge Matin Rasekh.
One of the convicts who is a father of two, mentioned he committed the crime in a desperate attempt to pay for his wife’s chemotherapy treatment.
