Judiciary Spokesperson Gholamhossein Mohseni Ejeie said on August 20, 2017, that a number of dossiers had been created for Telegram admins. “One of the cases had 14 suspects who were all tried and their sentences were issued which ranged from 91 days of prison to 5 years of prison,” according to the state-run Afkar news website.
Ejeie cited public executions and added that the cases carried out in public had been coordinated with the Provincial Security Council.
“These are cases which are carried out with the aim of setting examples for others and in my opinion have had a positive effect”, the Judiciary Spokesperson added.
