Iran: The budy of executed prisoner buried without the permission and presence of his family

The body of executed Sunni prisoner of conscience Seyyed Jamal Mousavi was buried without the permission and presence of his family.
The authorities of Gohardasht prison, west of Tehran, transferred Mousavi on August 16 from Hall 21 of Section 7 to solitary confinement under the pretext of sending him to hospital. He was held enchained in solitary confinement for a week.
He was handcuffed and shackled for eight days, an inhumane measure which led to bleeding of his hands and feet.
Prison authorities threatened Moussavi that his death sentence would be implemented if he leaks any information out of prison.
His family were told that Tuesday, August 22, would be their last opportunity to visit him. The authorities had not indicated the exact date of his execution.
Based on routine practice, the death sentence is carried out a week after notifying the family.
However, Mousavi was apparently executed on Wednesday, August 23, but his fate remained in a halo of mystery.
His family were informed of the execution after a long delay, and they were not able to receive the body.
Seyyed Jamal Mousavi was arrested in 2008 by the intelligence agents of Sanandaj, capital of the Iranian Kurdistan Province, in western Iran. In 2009, he was sentenced to death for “waging war against God”.
He was enduring time in exile since July 2016, in Gohardasht Prison.
