Political prisoner, Rasoul Hardani was beaten and severely injured by common prisoners over the past few days.
Rasoul Hardani staged a hunger strike since five days ago after he was transferred to the quarantine of the prison on the order of prison authorities.
Contrary to the principle of segregation of offences, he has currently been held in a ward where common prisoners and dangerous criminals are being held.
Rasoul Hardani was arrested in 2000, on security charges and sentenced to death while he was under the age of 18. The verdict was reduced to life imprisonment in an appeals court. Hardani is currently serving 17th year of imprisonment in Gohardasht Prison.
