A young man identified as 23-year old Mehdi.K was hanged on October 29, 2017 in Central Prison of Mashhad. He was found guilty of murder. He was 20 years old at the time of committing the crime and was recently married. His 18-year old wife was arrested on the charge of complicity in murder and sentenced to 12 years and a half behind bars.
Another prisoner was executed on October 28, 2017 on the same charges in Central Prison of Zahedan. Majid Ramroudi was 25 at the time of arrest and has been on the death row for five years.
In another development two young inmates were executed last week also in Central Prison of Mashhad, according to the state-run Rokna news agency. The two were identified by their initials as Majid.M and Hossein.S. The execution date has not been exactly announced by the state media.
