Four inmates were hanged today, Tuesday October 7, 2017 based on drug related charges in Urmia Central Prison (Darya Prison), northwestern Iran.
The victims were identified as Asghar Ranjbar, Hedayat Shirzad, Hassan Bashoghi and Ali Shirzad. They were transferred to solitary confinement in preparation for their executions on October 6.
In another development on October 3, 2017, a 35-year old inmate was hanged in Gohardasht Prison of Karaj, west of Tehran, according to the state-run Rokna news agency. Having been convicted of murder Amirhossein.T had been on death row for 13 years.
According to the same source another inmate was executed on November 2, in Mashhad Central Prison. He was also found guilty of murder.
