Arak Prosecutor, Abbas Ghasemi, announced on November 6, 2017 that the closure of eight traditional restaurants for reasons such as supplying hookahs to customers, noncompliance of the hijab, and not obtaining legal licenses, according to the state-run Mizan news agency.
“According to investigations regarding the supply of hookahs and tobacco and the lack of observance of Islamic standards in some of the city’s traditional restaurants in the city, the Crime Prevention Department of the Public Prosecutor’s Office and the Arak Revolutionary Court, with precise planning and coordination with the police and intelligence agents, inspected these restaurants on November 30.
