The Kerman Director General of Prisons and Security Measures said that 69.5% of prisoners were under 40 years of age and that 95% of prisoners in Kerman province did not have diplomas, according to the state-run ISNA news agency, December 12, 2017.
“There are 12 prisons in Kerman Province”, Reza Amiri added.
“The province is one of the three densely populated provinces of the country”.
He also said that 22 percent of Kerman prisoners were single saying that 82% of married people had more than one child and that prisoner’s families were among the poorest families in Iran.
