The head of the National Center for Cyberspace said that they would filter Telegram if they reached the conclusion that it was needed.

Of course in order to encourage Iranian users to switch to domestic services, some promises have been made including better services and cheaper bandwidth.
Firuzabadi, the head of the National Center for Cyberspace, emphasizing the harmfulness of Telegraph’s monopoly, in response to whether there was a probability in filtering Telegram, said that they would filter it if they reached the conclusion that it had to be done.
