Sajjad Pirfalak, the uncle of Kian Pirfalak, wrote on his Instagram that they would not accept any “fake or unreal narrative about Kian’s murder.”
Kian Pirfalak, 9, was killed by security forces on November 16, 2022, as he and his family passed in a car. Kian’s mother said she saw the security forces and plainclothes agents who ordered them to turn around, were the ones who opened fire on their car.
Sajjad Pirfalak states that their family would not accept any fake or unreal narrative about the murder of Kian in Izeh. He also adds, “Regarding anyone from the people of Izeh who is going to be introduced as the killer of Kian by falsifying the reality, we have given consent in advance.” Meaning he will not accept any harm done to the individual.
Under the Iranian regime’s law, if someone is handed down a death sentence for committing murder, the family of the victim can save his life by giving their consent.
Speaking on behalf of the Pirfalak family, Sajjad Pirfalak thanked the Iranian people and everyone in Izeh for expressing their sympathies. He conveyed special gratitude on behalf of the Gorouii and Great Dinaran clans in Izeh. He wrote that based on “the field evidence,” the “identities of those who shot at the car of Maysam Pirfalak are clear, specific, and unchangeable for those with an awake conscience.”
His statement on Instagram, posted on Tuesday, December 27, 2022, also states that “under no circumstances will the Pirfalak family accept fake and unreal narratives about the murder of Kian and wounding of Maysam Pirfalak.”
Noting “the political and social role of the Bakhtiari Tribe in the developments of the last two centuries in Iran,” the statement addresses the “decision-making officials,” and declares, “We have no complaints against the individuals named in the official media or the detained citizens of Izeh. We believe that attributing terrorist and subversive operations to the noble, patriotic, and freedom-loving Bakhtiari people is far from the dignity and status of this great tribe.”
The Pirfalak family said they would welcome it if the authorities were “really determined” to “introduce the actual murderers” of Kian. They said, “Otherwise, they will give their consent in advance to all the residents of Izeh who are to be introduced as murderers of Kian Pirfalak by fake narratives of the incident.”
