At least nine prisoners were executed in the prisons of Zahedan, Aligudarz, and Gorgan. These executions bring the total number of executions in the Persian month of Tir (June 22 to July 22) to 74 so far—a deeply troubling figure that underscores an escalation in judicial violence.
Execution of 6 Prisoners in Zahedan Prison
At dawn on Sunday, July 20, 2025, six prisoners were hanged in Zahedan Prison.
The identities of three of them have been confirmed:
- Dariush (Abdolnasir) Shahbakhsh, 24 years old, from the village of Golchah, married with children
- Nematollah Shahnawazi, from the city of Khash, married with children
- Abdoljalil Darkzehi, 35 years old, from the village of Chah-Ahmad, married with children
These three prisoners had been arrested in 2021 (1400 SH) on drug-related charges and were sentenced to death.
The identities of the other three individuals are still under investigation.
Execution of Two Prisoners in Aligudarz
In the early morning of Saturday, July 19, 2025, two other prisoners—Parviz Sarlak and Mohammad Ahmadhani—were executed in Aligudarz Prison.
Their charges were reportedly related to murder.
No further information regarding their trial process or case details has been published.
Execution of Yaghoub Moradi and Three Others in Gorgan
On Tuesday, July 16, 2025, Yaghoub Moradi, a resident of Gorgan and father of one child, was executed in Gorgan Prison on drug-related charges.
He had been arrested three years earlier and sentenced to death.
On the same day, three other prisoners were also executed in the same prison, two of whom have been identified as Alireza Eshtarak and Mohammad Eshtarak.
