Alarming Trend of Executions
The reported executions underscore a deeply alarming trend in Iran, where the regime continues to rely heavily on the death penalty. With more than 48 executions in the past two weeks, the rate of capital punishment remains exceptionally high. Many of these executions, particularly those for drug-related offenses, often follow trials that fall far short of international fair trial standards, with prisoners frequently denied due process, legal representation, and the right to appeal effectively.
The international community is urged to condemn these ongoing executions and demand an immediate halt to the use of the death penalty in Iran, calling for adherence to international human rights standards and fair judicial processes.
