Iran: Guidance Patrol harasses women in public places

The enclosed video clip, published on the internet, shows harassment of women in public places in Iran. In this short clip, you can see the tragic scene of the guidance patrol agents dealing with two young women walking in a park. You can see the female agents of the Guidance Patrol trying to forcefully push one of the girls inside the partol’s van, and you can see her resisting with all her might.

This scene is repeated thousands of times every day all across Iran. The State Security Force commander has admitted that an average of 2000 women are apprehended every day in Tehran and other cities across Iran for not fully observing the compulsory hijab (head cover).
